We’re thrilled to share another Yuan Qigong Workshop with you, led by our very own Osteopath – Isabelle Ferré.
What is Yuan Qigong and Xia Yuan?
Yuan Qigong is a time-honoured practice that harnesses the power of Qi, our inner life force energy. Stemming from traditional Chinese medicine, this gentle yet powerful regimen combines rhythmic movements, breathing exercises, and concentrated intention to nurture and balance Qi throughout the body.
Xia Yuan is the fourth method in the Yuan Qigong system. This method uses sound, movement, visualisation and special mind activity to create positive change for the organs and their functions. This method brings our work on Qi to a deeper level. You will also learn about how the organs relate to specific emotions and how this practice can help you with emotional stability and cultivating a calm state.
What will the workshop feature?
- An Introduction to Yuan Qigong and Xia Yuan: Uncover the principles, benefits, and deep-seated philosophy of this practice.
- Learning the sequence of movements involved in Xia Yuan.
- Q&A Session: Receive customised guidance and insights to aid your personal journey.
What are the Benefits of Xia Yuan?
Improved Physical Health: Xia Yuan is the method for activating and improving the Qi in the organs. This creates a positive effect on the organs of the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular and urinary systems. Improving organ Qi has a knock on effect on the organ’s corresponding functions and energy pathways in the body, which can enhance the health of all tissues including muscles, tendons and bones. You can expect Xia Yuan to ease pain and elevate energy levels.
Enhanced Mental and Emotional Balance: As each organ corresponds more specifically to certain emotions, Xia Yuan is the method dealing in particular with the relation between emotional wellbeing and physical health. With gentle movements, sound and a special mind activity, Xia Yuan fosters emotional stability in a holistic way, integrating the body, mind and heart.
Self-empowerment andHealing: Grasp simple yet potent techniques to trigger your body’s self-healing mechanisms. Yuan Qigong guides you in harnessing your inner strengths and assuming an active role in your health journey.
Who Should Participate?
This workshop, like its predecessor, welcomes participants of all levels—whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to the practice. Regardless of fitness level, experience, age, or focus abilities, everyone can find value in the transformative teachings of Xia Yuan. If you find it difficult to stand for more than 30 minutes attending a workshop on Tian Yuan and Di Yuan instead is recommended.
